Early on, I discovered my passion for metal and manufacturing technology—the work with the material, its malleability, and the precision in the production process fascinated me. It quickly became clear that my career path would begin in a foundry.

The apprenticeship provided me not only with a solid foundation but also insights into various areas of production. I eventually found my professional home in the core-making department, where I now serve as a department head. Here, craftsmanship, technical understanding, and teamwork come together-the perfect mix for me.

Currently, I am pursuing further training to become an industrial foreman to deepen my expertise and enhance my leadership skills. The combination of responsibility, technology, and organization motivates me daily.

Working in the foundry fulfills me because I am not only part of an exciting production process but also actively contribute to the quality and efficiency of our products.

In September 2019, I began my journey at Gusstechnik Schopfheim as an apprentice industrial clerk. After completing my training in May 2022, I had the opportunity to be directly hired by Gusstechnik.

Since then, I have been working in internal sales—a field where I can fully apply my communication strengths. The direct contact with customers and the teamwork make my work varied every day.

To further develop my professional and personal skills, I started advanced training to become an industrial specialist in October 2022, which I plan to complete in early 2025.

I particularly appreciate that Gusstechnik has supported me on this path and given me the opportunity to actively shape my career

My career at Grohmann began in 1994 with an apprenticeship as a model maker-the first step in an exciting career in foundry technology. Early on, I was involved in innovative projects, such as the introduction of CAD technology.

After further training as a state-certified technician specializing in foundry technology, I gained valuable experience as a shift supervisor in gravity die casting. This was followed by roles in quality assurance and project planning, where I led the introduction of new components from 2011 to 2018.

In 2018, I joined the Technical Corporate Development department to support strategic projects, and in 2021, I took over the plant management at our Bisingen site.

Today, I combine years of technical experience with the ambition to continuously improve processes and develop our plant with a future-oriented approach. Grohmann stands for technical excellence and continuous development – values that have shaped my professional journey.

After completing my training as an industrial clerk, I joined MGH GussTec, a company within the Grohmann Group, in 2017. Since then, I have been responsible for procurement, handling the acquisition of raw materials, supplies, and services.

To expand my knowledge, I pursued further training as an industrial specialist from 2018 to 2020, followed by training as a business economist from 2020 to 2022. I am particularly grateful that MGH GussTec allowed me to complete these trainings alongside my job and supported me in my professional development.

These qualifications have enabled me to make procurement processes more strategic and efficient. I especially value our young, dedicated team, the enjoyable collaboration, and the variety of tasks.

Location: Johann Grohmann

My professional career at Grohmann began on February 15, 2005, as a toolmaker and die technician in the gravity die casting department. At that time, my responsibilities included the repair, maintenance, and servicing of machines and dies within our department. Grohmann enabled me to continuously expand my expertise by attending training courses in areas such as robot programming, foundry technology, and more. As a result, I was first promoted to shift supervisor and later to foreman.

After successfully completing my advanced training to become an Industrial Master Craftsman specializing in foundry technology, I was entrusted with the role of Deputy Plant Manager.

Since April 1, 2024, I have been the responsible Head of Plant 2 (gravity die casting), overseeing all aspects of Plant 2, including budget responsibility, production planning, workforce planning and allocation, customer support, logistics, and many other areas.

I am very proud of the opportunities Grohmann has provided me and of the great trust that has been placed in me since the beginning of my career here. One could truly say that I am a success story “made by Grohmann.”

Location: Johann Grohmann

My time at Grohmann began with a holiday job during my school years. The fascinating insights into the processes of aluminum casting encouraged me to start an apprenticeship as an industrial management assistant at Grohmann.

After completing my apprenticeship, I wanted to further expand my commercial knowledge and decided to pursue a dual study program in industrial engineering with a focus on technology and sustainability — naturally in cooperation with Grohmann. The time between finishing my apprenticeship and starting my studies allowed me to gain valuable initial experience as a project assistant in the project engineering department.

Today, I work as a Project Manager for Innovation, where I can apply both my commercial and technical expertise in exciting projects and implement new ideas. I will soon begin further training as an AI Manager. It is great to work for a company that actively promotes innovation and professional development.

Dietmar

Location: MGH GussTec

My professional career began in 1984 with an apprenticeship as a pattern maker in foundry pattern making. After several years in quality assurance, I took over management of the department in 1994 and systematically developed the quality management system.

Over time, my area of responsibility expanded to include environment, energy, information security (TISAX), and sustainability. Through a wide range of qualifications — including TQM Manager, Auditor (VDA 6.3 & 6.5), PSCR, and Energy Manager — I was able to continuously expand my expertise.

Today, I work as Management Representative for Quality, Environment, and Energy, and additionally coordinate IT operations. My focus is on the continuous development of our management systems, digitalization, and the sustainable orientation of the company.

Grohmann offers me the opportunity to actively shape innovation — with trust, responsibility, and a forward-looking mindset.

What I value most about our company is the opportunity for continuous personal and professional development, working with a high level of personal responsibility, and maintaining openness to new ideas. The support of the management team gives me the freedom to drive innovative projects forward.

Location: Gusstechnik Schopfheim

In September 2007, I began my apprenticeship as a foundry mechanic specializing in machine molding. After being retained by the company in 2010, I successfully completed my training in 2011 and gained my first hands-on experience in the sand foundry at the molding line, where I was further trained as a machine operator.

In 2016, Gusstechnik Schopfheim offered me the opportunity to pursue further training as a Foundry Master. Thanks to the company’s full coverage of the training costs, I was able to fully focus on my education and successfully completed it in 2018.

In 2020, I transitioned into project engineering and additionally took on responsibility for casting simulation. This diverse role allows me to apply and further develop my expertise while working on innovative solutions in foundry technology.

I am very grateful for the opportunities I have been given and for the trust placed in me at Grohmann. I truly enjoy continuously developing my skills and contributing my experience to a company that promotes growth and innovation. Facing new challenges every day and being part of a strong team makes my work especially fulfilling.
